April 24, 2008 2 pm City Hall; City Consent Hearing- speakers will
be allowed 2 minutes each and you can sign up when you get there.
The City must give Consent to Metro to take away lanes of moving traffic, create congestion and use the streets for the light rail or bus rapid transit lines.
Once Metro has Consent that will not have to build to City Code and will have no City oversight of the design and building of these transit ways. Metro will have total control of neighborhood entrances and cross streets.
Please be advised.
The Special called TIA meeting that was scheduled for Thursday, April 24 is cancelled due to scheduling conflicts. We are currently planning on these two dates for the TIA Committee:
- Special called TIA on May 8th at 10am
- Regularly Scheduled TIA meeting on May 13th at 10am
!!! PLEASE ATTEND THIS MEETING !!!
June 4 , 2008
8:45 am Judge Levi Benton, Harris County Courthouse, 13th Floor; Everyone needs to attend this hearing and let Judge Benton know that
you care about your neighborhoods, your trees and your streets.
METRO will do their best to make our case go away, but our attorney, Andy Taylor , will be there to do battle for everyone in Houston who wants to keep Houston moving and save our neighborhoods.

If Metro has its way, the beauty of our neighborhoods will be replaced by less attractive concrete, construction and congestion.
Voters in 2003 already said rail should go elsewhere. Why is Metro changing now?
